The brief biographic information

  • E.M.Letifova was born in Makhachkala, Russian Federation  on December, 19th, 1974.
  • 1981- 1991 studied and graduated with silver medal Gakh city secondary state school №3.
  • At the same year she entered historical faculty of the Baku State University on a specialty "history-oriental studies".
  • In 1996 graduated from historical faculty BSU with the red diploma and has received a specialty « the historian-Orientals, the teacher of history ».
  • At the same year under the decision of the Science Academic Council of faculty it has been accepted in postgraduate study.
  • 1996-1999 years continued education as post graduate student, worked on PhD under the science supervisors of Honoured scientist, laureate of State Prize of Republic Azerbaijan, corresponding member Azerbaijan National Academy professor Yagub Makhmudov, professor Arif Mustafaev, doctoral thesis was  Ilisu Sultanate.
  • 1999 year there was revealed o the light first monography North-West Azerbaijan: Ilisu Sultanate, monography is dedicate to this sultane`s history formation.
  • In 2001 she defended dissertation on a theme «Ilisu sultanate».
  • Since that time works as the teacher of faculty of Ancient history and Middle Ages of historical faculty BSU.

  • In 1996 graduated from historical faculty BSU.
  • In 2001 defended dissertation on a theme « Ilisu sultanate».
  • Now is working above the thesis for a doctor's degree on a theme « Northwest territories of Azerbaijan in foreign policy of the neighboring states (XI-I half XIX centuries) ».

Work Experience

  • Since 2001 works as the teacher of faculty of Ancient history and Middle Ages BSU.
  • She teaches « The history of the Ancient East », « Antique history » and « History of the international relations» conducts rates, and also reads lectures on a magistracy at rates « The International relations of the ancient period and Middle Ages » and « Northwest territories of Azerbaijan in the policy of the neighbouring states (XI-I half XIX centuries) ».
  • She is the author of 43 scientific articles, 7 programs for bachelors, 1 programs for masters and 1 monographs

Fields of research

  • Now E.M.Letifova works above the thesis for a doctor's degree on a theme « Northwest territories of Azerbaijan in foreign policy of the neighboring states (XI-I half XIX centuries) ».
  • Political situation in Morthwest teritories of Azerbaijan in XVIII century, basic attention of research is political demise of Safavid State, rise attention, interest of neighboring states, struggle for predominant influace of Russian Empire and Ottoman State in the second half XVIII century. During reaearch there were used unique archival documents in Russian Federation and Georgia.

Participation in the international conferences, symposiums and seminars

  • In 2004 has acted with the scientific report on the international scientifically-practical symposium, devoted memories of national leader G. Aliyev and on May, 28th - to day of Republic « the Turkic world, Azerbaijan and Turkey in a direction of new tendencies of development ».
  • On April, 19-21th, 2007 E.M.Letifova acted with the report at the international conference « VI Zaq urov readings » in a to Makhachkala, spent the Dagestan State University.
  • On May, 8th, 2007 addressed to the international scientifically-practical conference in a to Makhachkala « Historical and cultural and economic relations of people of Dagestan and Azerbaijan: a sight from experience of the past in XXI century », devoted to110 anniversary Aziz Aliyev.
