SHIRIN TEYMUR BUNYADOVA (1963) Historian, ethnographer

Shirin Bunyadova was born on 16 March 1963. From 1979 to 1984, she studied at Baku State University, Faculty of History, graduating with honors. In 1984, she entered the Institute of History, Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, as a postgraduate student. In 1987, she worked at the unit of archaeological investigation of new construction areas. In 1991, she defended a PhD thesis, and earned a ScD degree in 1999. From 1992-1997, she was employed as a teacher at secondary school No 44, and from 1996-1998 at Tafakkur University. Shirin Bunyadova has been a professor at the Department of Archaeology and Ethnography, Faculty of History, BSU, since 2009. She has published a number of papers and articles in local and foreign periodicals. She has also authored six books. She has supervised more than 10 master students to completion. She sits on the Thesis Council, Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
