Qurban Bayramov was born on 17 September 1934. In 1948, he entered Iravan Pedagogical Vocational School. In 1952, he graduated from a pedagogical vocational school in Khanlar region. From 1952 to 1958, he studied at Baku State University, Faculty of History. From 1959 to 1962, he was a postgraduate student at the university`s Department of History of Azerbaijan. From 1962 to 1972, he served as a junior and then senior research fellow at the Institute of History, Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences. From 1975 to 1988, he was secretary at the Party Committee, Baku State University. In 1991, he became head of the Department of Modern and Contemporary History of Azerbaijan. Qurban Bayramov defended a PhD thesis in 1965 and achieved a ScD degree in 1985. He published a number of monographs and articles, including “Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”, “Historic Truth”, “Azerbaijani Parliament”, “History of Azerbaijan (1917-1920): A New Thinking and New Approach”, “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani Historical Science”, “Heydar Aliyev about Azerbaijan Democratic Republic”. He was the recipient of the “Order of Red Labor Flag” and several medals and certificates of recognition of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan SSR and Ministry of education. Qurban Bayramov was “Merited Teacher” of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
