KHAQANI MAMMAD MAMMADOV (1954) Historian

Khaqani Mammadov was born in the city of Aghjabadi in 1954. From 1970 to 1975, he studied at Baku State University, Faculty of History. In 1975, he was appointed a history teacher at Aghjabadi city secondary school No7. From 1979 to 1982, he did postgraduate studies at Azerbaijan State University. In 1985, he defended a PhD thesis, and earned a ScD degree in 1998. In 1982, he became a teacher at the Department of History, Azerbaijan State University, and was promoted to a senior lecturer in 1986 and associate professor in 1994. He was made a professor in 2000. From 1995 to 2003, Khaqani Mammadov served as vice-rector for international relations and head of the Department of Humanities at Baku Business University, from 2005 to 2007 as head of the Department of Improvement of Professional Qualities of high-ranking specialists, Public Administration Academy under the President, from 2007-2012 served as director of Aghjabadi branch, Azerbaijani Teachers` Institute. He has published over 15 monographs, handbooks and methodological handbooks. He has authored more than 120 papers.
