KHALIL ORUJ ALIMIRZAYEV (1918-1976) Historian

Khalil Alimirzayev was born in the village of Mirzabayli, Qutqashen region, in 1918. In 1934, he finished a rural secondary school. He worked at a kolkhoz in 1934-1936. From 1936-1939, he studied at Azerbaijan State Agricultural Institute, Department of Workers, and from 1939 to 1948 at Azerbaijan State University, Faculty of History. In 1948, he did postgraduate studies at the Department of Marxism-Leninism, Azerbaijan State University. He defended a PhD thesis in 1954, and achieved a ScD degree in 1963 and professorship in 1964. He authored more than 100 papers.
