Irada Rafizade was born in 1954. In 1971, she entered Azerbaijan State University, Faculty of History. In 1974, she was transferred to Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of History, graduating with honors in source criticism and historiography in 1977. The same year she embarked on postgraduate studies at the Faculty of History, Moscow State University. In 1981, she defended a PhD thesis in Moscow, and obtained a ScD degree at the Institute of History, Azerbaijan Academy of Sciences, in 1991. She had been a professor at the Faculty of History, Baku State University, since 1982 until her death. Irada Rafizade published more than 30 papers, and “Development of Capitalist Relations in the Azerbaijani Village” monograph. She was awarded by Azerbaijan Lenin Komsomol Youth Department for her services to science.
