ELMIRA BOYUKAGHA MURADALIYEVA (1950) Historian

Elmira Muradaliyeva was born on 11 October 1950. In 1968, she entered Baku State University, Faculty of History, graduating with honors in 1973. as a young specialist, she was made a teacher at the university upon her graduation. In 1981, she defended a PhD thesis, and obtained a ScD degree in 1991 and professorship in 1992. Her research interests are in genesis and development of capitalist relations in Northern Azerbaijan. She has published over 90 papers, including four monographs. She has supervised seven PhD students to completion. In 1983, Elmira Muradaliyeva received a diploma of the laureate of the All-Union Contest of Young Scientists for her research on “Mass resources on the history of monopoly capital in Baku`s oil industry”. In 2000, she was awarded a medal by the government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. From 1992 to 2002, she served as scientific secretary and was a member of the Expert Council on History, Higher Attestation Commission. She was also the recipient of “Emanuel Nobel” Medal.
