MALIK HASAN ORUJOV (1905-1983) Historian

Malik Orujov was born in 1905. From 1927 to 1941, he headed the Military Department, Azerbaijan State University. In 1941-1946, he participated in the World War II. From 1946-1948 and 1960-1966, he served as dean of the Faculty of History. From 1948 to 1951, he was vice-rector of Baku State University, and headed the Department of General History from 1960 to 1966. He achieved a PhD degree in 1954, obtaining a ScD in 1970. He became a professor at Baku State University. Malik Orujov authored four monographs, and “Modern History” textbook. He received 14 State Awards, orders and medals.
